I loved the characters in this story especially Phoenix, a leading lady who knows how to kick butt and take names, literally. Civilization is disintegrating fast and they look to each other for security and, at the most basic, hope.įast-paced, this quick read had me on the edge of my seat. Their new mission is to survive and to protect one of the possible saviors of the world.
Ike Glass and Ace Cullen are soldiers who witnessed the unleashing of the virus and know exactly what the consequences are of its release. Along with her ability to pick up a knife and gun, and use them well, she is unique in ways she never imagined. The thing is, though, she is not like everyone else. Phoenix Blue is a young woman caught up in the chaos like everyone else. Oh – and it was terrific!Īt the core of the story are a few key players. What I got was a mind-blowing leap into an end-of-the-world pandemic, with a hint of love and romance.
I’m not sure what I thought this was going to be - maybe a romance with a bit of apocalyptic mayhem or a virus epidemic that would be deadly but containable.
